1. Will Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon remain on the same page?
Shane McMahon opened the show this Tuesday and wasted little time to call out Daniel Bryan. Shane was upset at his general manager for not firing Owens and Sami Zayn like he instructed. Instead, Bryan put Owens and Zayn in a Lumberjack match against the New Day. Moreover, this week, he was scheduled to face Randy Orton. Bryan disagreed with Shane’s idea of firing the performers, since whatever they did was in the name of competition.
This is not the first time Bryan and Shane has had friction between them. Throughout the build towards Survivor Series, Bryan was upset at Shane for the whole ‘Under Siege’ angle. This resulted in heated words between the two, but the duo always made sure to stay on the same page. This week however, something was different. From the way Shane called out Bryan, to the way Bryan was presented, his attire and expressions, all had changed slightly.
What differentiates a great wrestler from a good wrestler is their ability to alter the presentation of their character. Depending on whether they are faces or heels, they have an innate ability to give visual clues and subtle mannerisms to hint the fans. Could Bryan be doing the same? Creative can easily work an angle where Bryan is held back from returning to the ring by Shane and the rest of the McMahons. This eventually results in him recruiting Owens and Zayn to take out Shane and anybody who gets in the way of him returning to the ring.
This will not only come right out of the blue, with Bryan turning heel from out of nowhere, but also shoot through the roof as a storyline. WWE has not done something of this much magnitude in recent times. Whether anything really happens remains to be seen though.
