3. Lumberjack Match For SmackDown Women’s Championship Adds Different Dimension

Both women’s divisions in the WWE have been shaken up in recent weeks with the additions of two different trios of superstars, each on Raw and SmackDown.  And The Riott Squad has helped change the game on SmackDown since debuting in recent weeks.

The SmackDown Women’s Championship is set to be defended by Charlotte Flair against Natalya at the Clash of Champions pay-per-view, but last night’s SmackDown added a different flavor to the match.  As several of SmackDown’s top women approached GM Daniel Bryan backstage, they all wanted part of the match.

So, Bryan compromised by making the match a Lumberjack Match where all of those women would be surrounding the ring.  Although the match is still one-on-one pitting Charlotte against Natalya, having these volatile lumberjacks ringside is sure to shake things up for the match.  There was a nice tease of how this could play out last night after Charlotte defeated Tamina as the other women on the outside went at each other.

It will also be interesting to see how The Riott Squad intervenes given how Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan have laid waste to two superstars already in Becky Lynch and Naomi.  What role will they place as lumberjacks in a match with gold on the line?  It’s bound to be memorable.

Are The Queen’s days as SmackDown Women’s Champion numbered?  Given the circumstances surrounding the match now, they might just be.
