Finn Balor Really, Really Wants To Be Partners With Bayley

The WWE has announced a mixed tag match tournament, and Finn Balor is hoping to partner up with former Raw Women’s Champion Bayley.

Although Finn Balor is on a long-term quest to regain the Universal Championship, it looks like he has a short-term goal on his mind. Balor, who is one of the most OVER superstars in the WWE, tweeted that he wants to partner up with Bayley in the WWE’s upcoming mixed tag team tournament. OK, he really wants to team up with Bayley. Like, really, really wants to.

Quick note: Could you imagine Bayley partnering up with Braun Strowman instead? Wouldn’t that be something!

Anyway, Bayley and Balor have a bit of a history together from their days on NXT, as you can see in the photo below.

The WWE announced that the mixed tag match series will be 12 episodes long and begin airing on Facebook on Jan. 16. Because the WWE’s contract with USA Network will run out soon, they may have to look to other options. One possible outside-the-box scenario could involve them streaming shows on Facebook, so this could be an interesting way of testing the viability of moving shows to FB.

Every episode will be 20 minutes long, and the tournament is single-elimination style. The winner of the tournament will get to donate $100,000 to the charity of their choice, so it is a win-win all around.

All I can say is that I hope Balor gets his wish, because Finn and Bayley would make the perfect team. Everyone loves rooting for both of them, and they’d have quite the chemistry in the ring, which would make them among the favorites to win it all as a pair.

We’ll have to wait and see who the WWE picks as teams, and we’ll also have to see how many superstars are involved. I’m guessing superstar couples will wrestle together, but we’ll see if that is the case.
