1. Daniel Bryan Joins Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens

This entire Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn/Shane McMahon/Daniel Bryan saga is really confusing. On one hand, the company is trying to create the idea that Bryan is on the side of Zayn and Owens and by inserting himself into their tag match against Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura Sunday night, he’ll have a chance to help them. But at the same time, they’re also teasing a Shane McMahon heel turn. And if history can predict the future, that’s exactly what’s going to happen. So there are number of ways that this tag match could turn out and the ramifications of the decision that is made could be huge.

But for this writer at least, the most interesting, plot-swerving, future ratings boost move, would be to have Daniel Bryan side with Zayn and Owens. Sure, it won’t be easy. Zayn and Owens are the top two heels on SmackDown and Bryan could legitimately run over every wrestling fans dog with his car and they’d still have his back. But it would be an extremely interesting dynamic to group together a guy who’s been the most over superstar of the past decade with a duo of back-stabbing, conniving heels. It would clearly take some creativity and a smart explanation from Bryan, but the entire thing would have massive potential.

But let’s be honest for a minute. One of two things will most likely happen in this match. Either there will be no definitive conclusion and this program will continue without an answer into 2018 or Shane McMahon will turn heel and “shockingly” side with Zayn and Owens. But after all Shane has been through over the past few months, that turn would make absolutely no sense. And that’s probably why it will happen. But I’m going out on a limb. Bryan makes the turn and SmackDown Live will get even better.
