WWE Clash of Champions 2017 is finally upon us. WWE’s final pay per view of the year is a SmackDown brand exclusive event. The big selling point for Clash of Champions – born out of WWE’s Night of Champions – is that every championship is defended at the pay per view.
With the SmackDown brand hosting Clash this year, there will be four championship matches on the card. In the main event, AJ Styles defends the WWE Championship against Jinder Mahal. Styles defeated Mahal to regain the title roughly a month ago on SmackDown Live, and successfully defended it at Starrcade. Now, Jinder officially gets his rematch. With the Singh Brothers accompanying Jinder, anything can happen. Can Styles keep his championship?
The SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair faces off against Natalya in another rematch. This time around, it will be a Lumberjack Match for the title. Since just about the whole women’s division will be surrounding the ring, the situation will be incredibly volatile. The Riott Squad has been running roughshod on the division since their debut. Former champion Naomi and Ms. Money in the Bank Carmella also have their sights set on the title.
The SmackDown Tag Team Championships will be on the line in a fatal four way. The Usos are set to defend the titles against New Day, Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin, and Rusev & Aiden English. The tag division has been on fire lately, and with four superstars in the ring during this match things are going to continue to impress.
Finally, Baron Corbin defends the United States Championship in a triple threat match. His opponents are Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler, who have a long history with each other. Corbin has been a dominant US Champ thus far, but can he continue that streak against two opponents?

In non-title action, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will fight for something bigger than a championship – their careers on SmackDown Live. The reunited buddies have run afoul of Shane McMahon, so the commissioner has made it his mission to rid them from his show. Shane has made himself the guest referee as Owens and Zayn face Shinsuke Nakamura & Randy Orton. Daniel Bryan is keen to keep things fair, so he will also be a special referee for the match.
Finally, The Bludgeon Brothers return to pay per view action against Tyler Breeze and Fandango. Harper and Rowan have looked good since their return to SmackDown Live, but the Fashion Police have been successful in their limited action.
