Breezango (Tyler Breeze & Fandango) vs. The Bludgeon Brothers (Harper & Rowan)

Result: The Bludgeon Brothers defeated Breezango via pinfall

Rating: 1.5 out of 5 stars

Boy, talk about “don’t blink and you’ll miss it” with this one…

This match was a squash in every sense of the word, which is both refreshing and sad. It’s refreshing because you don’t often get such one sided affairs on pay per view. But it’s sad because it’s Breezango – after all those months of Fashion Files, the big payoff is this?

Harper and Rowan are a tremendous team, though. It’s great to have them back, and doing something that they’re especially good at. Harper, especially, is so good in the ring that he should be a major focus of the storytelling in WWE.

There was some chatter on my social media timelines questioning why this match wasn’t on the kickoff show. Don’t forget that the kickoff show isn’t just on the WWE Network. It’s on YouTube, plus the pay per view free preview. Why would you try to entice people to possibly spend money on your product with a throwaway squash match? It makes much more sense for this to be on the main show simply for that reason.

My only hope is that this doesn’t mean the end of Fashion Files or the Fashion Police. Even if there’s no more interaction with Harper and Rowan, Breezango still has plenty of legs in the gimmick. The big problem would be their getting lost in the shuffle with the WrestleMania build now that the Royal Rumble is coming up.
