WWE SmackDown: Bludgeon Brothers Are a Promising Threat
By Sarah Hirsch
Did Luke Harper and Erick Rowan find their groove on WWE SmackDown Live with Bludgeon Brothers?
Since the dissolution of The Wyatt Family, WWE SmackDown Live has struggled to give both Harper and Rowan an identity all their own that could connect with fans. While Harper had some time and little success going solo, Rowan hasn’t been as lucky. However, injuries and booking have plagued both men as they went in and out of The Family.
After the Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton storyline, the former Wyatts simply were in need of a serious upgrade. With their affiliation to Bray, it’s almost like Harper and Rowan couldn’t break away from that. Over time, it made sense that the men needed a new identity to break off completely from the shadows of the former Wyatt Family. It’s over, now there is a new chapter written for them considering that Bray is on Raw.
Perhaps the answer to that transformation is their rebirth as the Bludgeon Brothers. Harper and Rowan have new music, a new look, and a new attitude. They are men to be feared as they work their way up in the SmackDown Tag Team Division. The rejuvenation shows in their efforts like there is a fire lit under them. They’re ready to take over the SmackDown Tag Team Division. Call it starting over, or call it a new beginning. Harper and Rowan have evolved and with the attention they have been getting thus far, it looks like the Brothers may have found something that clicks.
The question though, is how long can the revival last? Both men have proven they work well as a tag team, and going through the change and growth with the Bludgeon Brothers is evidence to that. Of course, their purpose is to dominate the tag team division. Can they follow through on that with the momentum they have been gaining thus far without the rug being pulled out from underneath them?

Considering the destruction Harper and Rowan caused upon Breezango at the Clash of Champions, the Brothers are on the move and will ascend the tag team ladder from the PPV. It’s evident that there are big plans for the Brothers considering they stay healthy and the booking doesn’t flaw them.
With that being said, it is a matter of time before they will more than likely target the likes of The New Day, and the team of Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable. It could be as early as the next SmackDown, or they could bide their time.
The new direction can certainly work in Harper and Rowan’s favor this time around. Change is good, and in this case, it was greatly needed.
The Brothers are capable of being an indestructible tag team that proves a threat to any and every team on the SmackDown roster. 2017 was a good year for the SmackDown Tag Team Division thanks to The New Day and The Usos showcasing some of their best work to date. The Brothers only add to the depth of the division as 2018 approaches.

It is hard to believe that Harper and Rowan has never held gold together on the main roster. That might change in a span of months. If nightmares are real in WWE, then SmackDown has been put on notice.
