The Dec. 18 edition of WWE Raw was a bit of a bland show overall with not a lot that stood out, but a few noteworthy moments did come out of the show.
Last night’s WWE Raw saw the Universal Championship match made official for the Royal Rumble as well as a few other developments that will directly effect Monday nights moving forward, including a monumental, history-making announcement.
Raw is in a rather stale place at the moment, but heading into the new year and with the Royal Rumble on deck in a little over a month, that all will change. Let’s take a look at five takeaways from the Dec. 18 edition of WWE Raw.
5. What is Happening With Enzo Amore’s Current Storyline?
Enzo Amore has been the focal point of 205 Live basically since day one of his arrival among the division. And as of late, him being the focal point has led to some interesting storyline developments.
Amore has turned back the challenges of a few different members of the 205 Live roster, but will soon get another challenger for his Cruiserweight Championship in Cedric Alexander. The real story doesn’t have much to do with Alexander challenging Enzo, however.
As of late, Enzo has been entangled in two separate angles that have been interesting to try and figure out. There seems to be some type of love interest between Enzo and Nia Jax over the past few weeks and Enzo’s lackey Drew Gulak has been in an interesting position as well. The two angles are starting to overlap each other and that is causing some uncertainty as to what is going on.
It seems likely that Gulak will break away from Enzo soon enough given how the storyline has gone lately with Gulak having one of the best characters in the WWE right now. But when it seemed like he would vie for the Cruiserweight Championship, he lost to Alexander last night. Eventually, one would have to imagine Gulak would take the title from Enzo.
The Certified G’s current angles are seeming like a jumbled-up mess at the moment and the WWE needs to become clearer as to what the plans are for Enzo and everyone involved.
