4. Women’s Rumble Is Announced

It might seem a bit weird to put a Royal Rumble announcement so high on this list, but a big part of it is the reactions the women in the ring had. Stephanie McMahon announced the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble for 2018, but the WWE kept this announcement a secret from its wrestlers. While many fans and wrestlers, such as Sasha Banks, had a hunch that this was coming, we still got some very genuine reactions from the wrestlers, such as Paige’s.

This is a huge deal, because the fact that we are finally getting a women’s Rumble is a huge step in the advancement of women’s wrestling. The WWE hasn’t done right by its female talent for most of its history, but Vince McMahon, perhaps the behest of the fans and his family members, is finally making strides when it comes to bridging the gap in how female talent is portrayed in comparison to the men.

There are so many female wrestlers and wrestling fans who have wanted this to happen for years, because it’s an important step in fighting for the one word we all have strived to be achieved in wrestling – equality.
