5. Brock Lesnar Defeats Braun Strowman At No Mercy

This match should have been higher on the list, because the build was awesome. Braun Strowman showed absolutely no fear or respect for Lesnar, and Paul Heyman was visibly worried that his beast would be conquered by the “Monster Among Men”.

But Lesnar had a secret weapon up his sleeve at No Mercy, and that was the Kimura Lock. Lesnar brought the submission maneuver back, and he used it early in the match. Strowman hit several powerslams on Lesnar, but he was unable to capitalize by pinning the Beast Incarnate due to being in so much pain.

Lesnar only needed one F5 to defeat all of his opponents, and, unfortunately, Strowman was no exception. This match didn’t lack hype and told a decent enough story, and it wasn’t as bad of a match as some will have you think.

That said, Strowman vs. Lesnar was a disappointment, because it didn’t meet the hype. It ended too quickly, and it didn’t make Strowman look good enough, especially after how frequently he beat Lesnar down in the build up to the No Mercy match.

As far as I’m concerned, the F5 finish was too sudden, and there should have been more plot twists to this match. Again, it wasn’t a poor bout, but it was mediocre, which just isn’t satisfactory when the names on the card are “Brock Lesnar” and “Braun Strowman”.
