WWE WrestleMania 34: Is John Cena Vs The Undertaker A Possibility?

The Undertaker supposedly retired after WrestleMania 33, but is he willing to come back for one more match against John Cena at WWE WrestleMania 34?

At WrestleMania 33, The Undertaker was defeated by Roman Reigns in the main event. After the match, The Deadman stripped himself of his iconic gloves, coat and hat, and left them in the ring. He then put his fist in the air seemingly saying goodbye to the WWE Universe.

The Undertaker’s retirement, just like The Deadman himself, is shrouded in mystery. Roman Reigns claims to have retired Undertaker while the announce team makes a point to say that he is “supposedly” retired or “may be” retired. So, this leaves room for speculation of a possible return.

Speculation regarding his career might be at its peak right about now is for three reasons. One reason would be that we are nearing the Road To WrestleMania, and if Undertaker were to have a match, it’d be at WWE WrestleMania 34. Another reason is that The Deadman is set to appear at the 25th anniversary of Raw where he could make an announcement about his career or upcoming match.

The final reason is because we may have just found out that there is talks for him to work a match at WrestleMania with none other than John Cena.

When speaking about John Cena and the possibility of breaking Ric Flair’s record at WrestleMania 34, the Wrestling Observer News’s Dave Meltzer reported that there are talks that Cena will be in a match that will be much “bigger” than him vs. AJ Styles for the WWE Championship.

While Meltzer did not outright say the plan is for the Undertaker to face Cena, there are very few matches bigger than a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania, especially when that match could help him break Flair’s record for the most world title reigns.

Meltzer went on to speculate that the matches bigger than the belt for Cena would likely be against someone like Goldberg, a returning Batista, or of course The Undertaker. Of those three, it seems as though The Undertaker would be the most likely opponent.

Goldberg just left and probably won’t have a match for another year or two if he decides to return to the ring, and while Batista has talked about returning to WWE, it may be difficult for that to happen with his schedule as an actor.

So, that leaves us with The Undertaker. Cena mentioned in a promo last year that he would rather be standing in front of The Undertaker instead of The Miz in regards to building a WrestleMania feud, and Cena may finally get his wish.

Both John Cena and The Undertaker are set to appear at the 25th anniversary episode of Raw. Will this start the build up to the epic dream match between two legends at WrestleMania 34? Or is it just a few too many years late to make this fantasy become a reality?
