Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair

Since SmackDown Live received the first ever women’s Money in the Bank match and still has Ms. Money in the Bank, Carmella, chances are that the first ever women’s Royal Rumble winner will come from Raw. Most of the favorites to win the match reside on the red brand, but that’s all relatively meaningless speculation. The winner could just as easily come from SmackDown.

When Charlotte Flair was traded to SmackDown during the “Superstar Shakeup”, she was united with Becky Lynch. Charlotte would turn face, and the two have been friendly backstage. That isn’t surprising, since they are real-life best friends.

However, Charlotte turned on Becky in the past, and another heel turn from Charlotte is a possibility. Fans also cannot rule out Lynch turning heel, though that is probably not in the cards. Still, WWE turned Sami Zayn heel at Hell in a Cell, so anything is possible.

Charlotte most likely won’t win the Rumble, because she is the SmackDown Women’s Champion and shouldn’t drop the title before the Rumble. But if Becky pulls off another underdog story and picks up another “first” (she was the first SmackDown Women’s Champion), she could set up a WrestleMania singles match for the ages. These two definitely deserve a WrestleMania singles match for the title, especially one that pits them against each other.

And the threat of a cash in would make this match all the more enticing, because it was Becky Lynch who eliminated Carmella to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Backlash 2016. Imagine if Carmella got her revenge by cashing in to ruin Becky’s WrestleMania moment.
