Thursday, January 4th, 2018, NJPW will present the 12th rendition of Wrestle Kingdom.  Wrestle Kingdom is the premier event for NJPW and is their equivalent to WrestleMania.  Feuds will see their end, new chapters in rivalries will be written, and foundations for new battles will be formed.

January 4th at the Tokyo Dome is like a holiday for wrestling fans.  I lump it right in with the holiday season, beginning at Thanksgiving and ending at Wrestle Kingdom.  This year’s event is shaping up to be one of the best in the history of the company.  Not only will fans be treated to stars like Okada, Tanahashi, Omega, and Jericho, but there is a slew of wrestlers like Jay White, Roppongi 3K, War Machine and more, looking to boost their careers.

As the sands continue to fall in the hourglass, the Tokyo Dome will begin to come to life.  With a 10 match card, there will be no lack of fireworks, drama or excitement.  With every championship on the line, careers will be changed for better or worse.  As I took a look at the card and revisited the events leading to NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 12, a few of the matches stood apart from the rest.
