No. 4: Bobby Roode

Bobby Roode’s run in SmackDown right now has been rather lackluster. However, it looks like he’s just a product of poor writing.

His first feud was against Dolph Ziggler, a talented in-ring performer who just wasn’t getting over with his new gimmick. The feud in general wasn’t good. The more important reason though: ROODE WASN’T A HEEL.

Watch his stuff in NXT. Roode was an arrogant heel and was still over with the crowd. His wrestling, mic work and gimmick scream heel.

Right now, SmackDown is full of heels: Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Jinder Mahal, Baron Corbin and the emerging Mojo Rowley. Even if they keep him face, they need to put him in a feud where he can showcase his incredible mic-skills.

On the other hand, he’s best fit as the antagonist to babyfaces such as Shinsuke Nakamura, AJ Styles, Finn Balor or Seth Rollins. A feud with any of those superstars would tear the roof down, and the WWE Universe would love every minute of it.

While he should turn heel, Roode could still find himself in line for his first WWE world title in 2018. The creative team just has to put him in position to succeed both in the ring and in promos.
