Who will possess the coveted final spot in the men’s WWE Royal Rumble 2018?
Within the WWE canon, the wrestler who holds the 30th and final spot in the Royal Rumble owns a significant advantage over the other entrants. He (or she depending on the year) gets to enter the match after numerous competitors have already been eliminated, and he (or she) is also often the freshest contender remaining in the contest.
Even though the 30th entrant has only won the Rumble just one more time that wrestler that draws number one, WWE still wisely builds up the last spot as the most envious position in the match.
As a result, WWE often saves the final spot in the Rumble for some of their biggest stars. A former world champion has entered the Rumble 30th in each of the last four Rumbles and in six of the last eight this decade. Looking back further into Rumble history, the 30 spot was used for top stars like Mr. Perfect or Ted DiBiase or people the company wanted to push like Rikishi during his heel run in 2000-01.
There have been exceptions (X-Pac, Duke Droese, Adam Bomb, etc.), but the company usually reserves number 30 for the big stars. This year will probably be no different. The question is, which of those stars will enter the WWE Royal Rumble 2018 last? One of these five men could fill the role.
