7. Asuka

Alexa Bliss is well within her right to refer to Asuka as the “Empress of Nothing”, but her petty insults and desire to smooth things over with Nia Jax are two signs that she’s legitimately scared of The Empress of Tomorrow.

And she should be. Asuka defeated Bliss with relative ease on last week’s episode of Raw, and she is, apparently, undefeated. Asuka has taken names and kicked the tar out of everyone since joining Raw, but she hasn’t had a marquee victory outside of her Survivor Series win and non-title victory over Bliss last week.

Up until this week, Asuka had never looked vulnerable on the main roster, but that all changed when Nia Jax decided to make her statement. Jax entered herself into the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble, and she is also on the path to taking Bliss’s Raw Women’s Championship.

Nia laid Asuka out, and I’d like to praise Asuka for doing an excellent job of selling for The Force of Greatness. Some people seem to forget that even though Asuka always wins and is portrayed as an unbeatable machine inside the ring, she is a pro’s pro and is so good at making her opponents look better. Her selling for Nia was yet another example of this, and it’s a big reason why I doubt the fans will “turn” on Asuka any time soon.
