4. Why is creative wasting Rusev’s momentum?
It seemed like finally after what seemed like an eternity, Rusev day was finally here. Though Rusev and Aiden English failed to capture the tag titles, their inclusion in the title match and their performance was captivating to say the least. Moreover, Rusev and English are as over with the fans as ‘over’ ever could.
However, this week on SmackDown Live, the popular and lovable duo lost to another fan favorite tag team. However, the gap between their credentials makes this a matter of questionable booking to say the least. Rusev is a future WWE champion material. He has all the makings of a mega star and has always had that aura. After being randomly paired with Aiden English, Rusev has turned his character into a babyface of sorts.
Tyler Breeze and Fandango, charismatic and entertaining as they are, are not on the same level as Rusev is. As such, Rusev and English losing to Breezango made me scratch my head, more than once. When will creative learn to make use of the goldmine they are sitting on top of? Given the opportunity, Rusev day can spread like wild-fire among the WWE universe. But at the moment, creative is merely wasting Rusev’s momentum and it’s not doing anybody any favors.
