WWE Royal Rumble 2018 is less than two weeks away.

That means it’s an incredibly exciting time in the WWE, as fans are already speculating who should win the 30-man match.

Over the years we’ve seen numerous memorable eliminations. It’s what truly makes the Rumble such a special match. There’s enough time for pretty much every competitor to get at least some offense in.

Near-eliminations and big spots are staples of the match. However, while the in-ring quality of the Royal Rumble always provides positives, the WWE also has a chance to further storylines during the match.

This year is no different, and there are a plethora of smart booking decisions that can be made from eliminations.

Here are five eliminations that need to happen during the Royal Rumble match.

Record Breaker

It’s time somebody breaks the record for fastest elimination. The dubious stat was set back in 2009, when Santino Marella was quickly — VERY quickly — tossed over the top ropes by Kane.

It’s tough to specify exactly who would be the best candidate to break the not-so-glamorous record. Conventional wisdom would suggest a cruiserweight would be best suited to break the record.

The only issue is “earning” the record for quickest elimination could damage someone’s credibility. Because of that, the candidate can’t be overly serious or up-and-coming like Cedric Alexander.

The best possible person may be Drew Gulak. He’s already over with the fans, and he’s continuing to develop his comedic chops. Taking a loss like that wouldn’t do too much to damage the leader of the Zo Train.

If not Gulak, perhaps either Tyler Breeze or Fandango could take the fall. Aiden English is another candidate, especially considering how the company seems to not be fully behind Rusev Day.
