4) Samoa Joe vs CM Punk Trilogy

While Samoa Joe was in the middle of his legendary run as ROH World Champion, one star was rising up the ranks in Ring of Honor as his equal – CM Punk. Punk, after feuding with Raven for most of 2003, had become one of the biggest stars in the company. Known for his incredible promos, and entertaining matches, it wasn’t long before ROH fans were asking “When is Punk facing Joe?”

The first match in their series was at ROH World Title Classic where both men wrestled to a 60-minute draw. The second match occurred a few months later at a show simply named: Punk vs Joe II.

Punk, returning to his hometown of Chicago, was aiming to defeat Joe and take his title from him. This match also went to a 60-minute draw, and was the first North American five-star match given by Dave Meltzer since Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker in the first Hell in a Cell match at WWE In Your House: Badd Blood.

The final match came at All Star Extravaganza II, where Punk tried one last time to conquer Joe in a match with no time limits. If you can find these three shows, go and watch them, as they were incredible.
