Why is Kane a reason for Brock retaining? The reason is quite simple – he’s in this match to take the fall. Brock has destroyed him in every segment where the three men were involved. At Raw 25, Brock hit him with an F5 and that was the end of Kane in the segment. After that the focus was purely on Braun and Brock. The story leading into the match is that Kane can’t beat Brock, as Brock keeps laying him out. With that being said, it is entirely possible that they can go the other direction and have Braun pin Kane too.

Regardless, Brock in the main event of WrestleMania seems inevitable. Having Brock pin Kane serves the purpose of protecting Braun, just in case he’s inserted into the WrestleMania main event. It also keeps Brock looking strong, as he has a win in a big match. It’s the perfect way to prepare him for the WrestleMania main event. Pinning Kane makes all the sense in the world, as Kane is no longer the star he once was, but still has some legitimacy to him, so it doesn’t seem like a cheap, nothing win.
