1. Is Roman Reigns poised to win the Royal Rumble?

Last week, my leading question from this series was whether Reigns was bound to drop the title to the Miz. Needless to say, that is exactly what happened at Raw 25. This leads us to the biggest question from the week. Is Reigns well on course to picking up yet another Rumble win? After all, when it comes to Royal Rumble matches, Reigns has become one of the elite performers in such short time.

Reigns holds the records for most eliminations in a Rumble match. Moreover, in every Rumble match he has participated in, Reigns was one of the final four contestants. That is impressive to say the least. Every single time. After dropping the IC title, Reigns will surely be in the Rumble this year as well. But will he win it all this year as well?

Reigns vs Brock Lesnar could very well be the main event at WrestleMania 34. It has been in the works for quite a while now. But does Reigns really need to win the Royal Rumble to do that? Imagine a scenario where a SmackDown Live superstar (God, please let it be Nakamura) wins the Rumble and challenges AJ Styles for the WWE title at Mania.

That leaves Brock Lesnar (who could very well walk away with the title at Rumble) without a properly ordained challenger, who earned the right to face him by winning the Royal Rumble match. This could very well be the case this Sunday. Raw could then workout a tournament to decide a number one contender and layer it with multiple storylines, from Rollins vs Jason Jordan to Balor’s ascension to Woken Matt Hardy unleashing chaos. However, regardless of all this drama, creative can still proceed with Reigns vs Lesnar.

I am more excited about what could happen after Reigns takes the title from Lesnar. For the first time in what felt like an eternity, we will have a Universal champion who will be out there every week. Moreover, we will have a scenario where properly built up challengers do not need to lose just to maintain a champion’s invincibility aura. What are your thoughts on this?
