WWE Raw: The Revival Have NOT Been Buried After Getting Beat Down

Despite taking a beating from The Bálor Club and some legends on the 25th anniversary of WWE Raw, things are still looking up for The Revival.

Let’s flash back to January of 2015. The Ascension had just arrived on the main roster after their dominant run in NXT. During the Raw Reunion show, this team ended up getting beaten down by returning legends like X-Pac, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, JBL, and Ron Simmons.

After that beating, The Ascension plummeted down the card and were not taken seriously as competitors and hardly ever had a chance to be featured on WWE TV. Only recently has The Ascension found a role on SmackDown Live as Breezango’s “best friends”.

Okay, now that we have refreshed our memory, let’s take a look back at what The Revival said on an episode of Raw right before the show’s 25th anniversary episode where legends would be heavily featured:

Despite the scathing promo by Dawson and Wilder where they took shots at legends and propped themselves up as the best professional wrestlers in WWE, fans all around the world became worried.

This is because, after this promo, it seemed like The Revival would suffer the same fate that The Ascension once faced at the 25th anniversary episode of Raw. Well, fans were worried for good reason.

At the 25th anniversary show, The Revival ended up losing to Gallows and Anderson and then they went on to take a beating from Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Scott Hall, Road Dogg, X-Pac, and Billy Gunn. Then, Finn Bálor capped off the demolition with a Coup de Grace to Dawson.

So, after receiving a beating that almost mirrored that of The Ascension, are The Revival doomed to go down the same path? NO! The Revival will be able to survive this beating, and this actually may have helped them.

The problem with The Ascension’s feud with legends was that…well, the feud was with legends. In this case, The Revival have now entered into a feud with Gallows and Anderson (and Finn) after the beatdown.

The Bálor Club has been in the main event scene ever since they formed for the first time on WWE’s turf, and they will be able to bring the Top Guys up to that top spot with them. Even better, Gallows and Anderson can now afford to lose now that they have already gotten a win over The Revival and have more credibility now that they are aligned with Finn.

So, The Revival can come out of this beating into a feud where they can win. Then, they could possibly enter the RAW Tag Team Title picture just in time for WrestleMania season. The Top Guys don’t seem to worried about their “burial” according to this promo, so you shouldn’t be, either.

So, as Scott Dawson’s grandmother would say, don’t cry over spilled milk. The Revival are not going away any time soon. In, fact one might even say “Forever The Revival”.
