3) Kane

This is where Kane comes into the picture. As I mentioned in my last article, Kane is in this match to take the fall. Regardless of who you think should win this match, virtually everyone can agree that the 50-year-old Kane is not the right man to win this match. While Kane is useful to have on the roster due to his veteran experience, having him win the title would be a gross miscalculation. The correct role for Kane in this match, regardless of who wins, is for him to take the fall.

The reasoning for this is that Brock can lose the title without actually losing. Even though Brock would still technically lose the match, he can be protected by Kane taking the fall. If Braun beats Kane, he beats a legend, but still leaves it open for a future match with Brock again. This serves two purposes – Braun becomes champion and thus is elevated as a legit main eventer, and Brock still looks strong because he wasn’t truly defeated. Meanwhile, Braun has a credible win against a legend, which isn’t a bad way to start your run as WWE Universal Champion.
