Stephanie McMahon enters as the “surprise” 30th entrant

This moment would almost exclusively rely on Rousey’s appearance, but it wouldn’t be necessary.

After the announcement that Stephanie McMahon would be present ringside at the announcer’s table during the match hit the internet, everyone on social media collectively sighed (with a few eyerolls thrown in, as well).

WWE has a habit of being either super sneaky, or not sneaky at all, and this feels like the latter. The McMahon family is no stranger to in-ring appearances, especially when it involves a nasty feud that they want to finish. Even the “level-headed McMahon”, Shane, has thrown himself into some questionable situations and decisions, thanks to heated rivalries.

It’s not to say that Stephanie entering the will give her the chance to win the match, that would be a move even WWE wouldn’t make. She’s definitely held titles before, but making her the first winner of the first women’s Royal Rumble match would kill her career. Her appearance, though, could move certain story lines forward and fill plot holes.

If she enters the match at all, it will be late in the game, played off as a huge surprise, and most likely due to Rousey’s endurance. I wouldn’t put it past WWE to throw her in even if Rousey doesn’t show, since they love to keep it in the family.
