Carmella wins match, cashes in, and holds all the belts
Let’s take a stroll down memory lane, to the very first women’s Money in the Bank match that took place last year. The very first women’s Money in the Bank briefcase, that was won–by a man.
The fallout from the outcome of that match was more than WWE anticipated, and pointed at the creative department, rather than Carmella and James Ellsworth, who were the intended benefactors of disdain. What it told fans, was that women aren’t capable of winning for themselves, which is definitely not what WWE preaches on a regular basis.
Regardless, Carmella got to keep the briefcase. She’s held the briefcase for a total of 170 days, the fourth-longest period that any briefcase winner has held it. It’s time for WWE to move on that opportunity, and the very first women’s Royal Rumble match would be a great place to do so.
The possibility that Carmella could hold both titles if she won the Rumble and cashed in her case has been tossed around. WWE likes to keep their match details ambiguous for a reason, so it’s unclear if the winner of the Rumble could choose to fight at WrestleMania for either show’s title. If so, Carmella could very well play her cards just right, so that she holds both titles.
There’s little desire for a Carmella win, but admittedly, it would be incredibly entertaining, and borderline hilarious to see everyone’s predictions blown out of water.
