General Manager of  WWE SmackDown, Daniel Bryan, announced via Twitter that Team Blue would approach a new way to rank our favorite Tuesday night superstars via a SmackDown Top 10.

Daniel Bryan, past WWE superstar and General Manager of Tuesday night’s SmackDown, announced on Twitter via video this afternoon that the show will feature a new ranking system to rank their superstars based on merit and talent, rather than popularity with fans.

Composed as a top ten list, superstars will be ranked as a new approach to show Bryan and Commissioner Shane McMahon who is the best each week, and who is most deserving of future opportunities and titles. The ranking system will determine aspects of the show like wanted matches, title opportunities, say in future feuds, and so on.

Starting this week, superstars from both the men’s roster and women’s roster from SmackDown will be allowed to place a vote on who they think deserves to be top ranked based on overall talent, locker room leadership, and athletic skill. Bryan noted that neither the General Manager nor the Commissioner can place a vote, and superstars are not allowed to vote for themselves.

There’s no clear indication of how the new ranking system will run, or if it will run smoothly at all. The ranking system could be held weekly, or just whenever the management team deems it necessary. Management on SmackDown does hope, however, that the involvement of superstars with each other will create a better experience for fans and athletes.

Bryan stated he hopes the ranking system will allow the show to be more engaging for the fans, and for the superstars, themselves. Bryan hopes the ranking system will give the roster the chance to really have their voices heard.
