Following a newsworthy Royal Rumble PPV, WWE followed up with a mediocre edition of SmackDown. These five segments stood out the most.

WWE presented a rather listless edition of SmackDown Live on Tuesday. The matches and segments were either forgettable, incoherent, or unnecessary. Aside from setting up a couple of matches for next weeks show, this weeks episode felt pointless. In spite of that, some moments stood out more than others.

In particular, these five segments served as the highlights for Tuesday night’s broadcast. Among them: potential fissures in the “Yep!” movement, a great Uso’s segment, Harper and Rowan squashing jobbers and some entertaining selfie promos.

Honorable mention: Zack Ryder vs. Rusev vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Jinder Mahal (U.S. Title number one contender’s match)– The match itself was fun and it was nice to see a match with some stakes attached to it, but a couple of things irked me.

First of all, what did these four men do to earn a chance to compete for the U.S. Title? Three of the four participants have previously held that championship, but none of them has looked particularly good over the past couple of weeks. This match fell victim to WWE’s usual wishy-washy booking. Rusev won with The Accolade, but he doesn’t feel like a legitimate threat to Bobby Roode’s gold.
