Bullet Club Divided: Kenny Omega vs. Cody at Supercard of Honor XII

A major match announcement was made on the most recent episode of Being the Elite. The Bullet Club is at war, as Cody faces Kenny Omega at ROH Super Card of Honor.

After the end of The New Beginning in Sapporo Day 2 we were left with many questions concerning the state of the Bullet Club. One thing was clear: Kenny Omega and Cody would eventually face off. Until today that question went unanswered, but now we know.

During this episode of Being the Elite, we see some of the fallout of what happened in Japan. Cody and Brandi went on vacation, celebrating life, while the rest of The Bullet Club was forlorn. Throughout the episode we see the impact of Cody’s turn on Kenny, and how it has torn The Elite apart. In particular, we do not know which side Nick and Matt Jackson are on, and this will be a major storyline leading into April 7th for ROH and New Japan.

At the end of the episode we witness Nick Jackson fall to the ground and have a premonition of sorts, much like Broken Matt Hardy.

We see a bunch of rabid ROH fans and Colt Cabana and Ian Riccaboni informing us that the main event of the evening would be Cody vs. Kenny Omega. Quite the cliffhanger ending to this episode of Being the Elite.

This match is significant for Ring of Honor as they are on track to beat their own attendance record from last year’s Supercard of Honor. Last year’s show featured a main event ladder match between The Hardy Boys and The Young Bucks for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. ROH broke all their attendance records with that main event last year, drawing about 3500 fans. They are on track to do the same again this year with Kenny Omega in the main event.

In a show that will go head to head with NXT TakeOver, ROH needed to have a massive drawing card to compete. Cody vs. Kenny Omega meets that quite easily. This is easily one of the biggest matches outside of WWE that weekend, and you can expect it to do big business for ROH.
