WWE Raw Top 5 Segments: Braun Strowman and His Bass
By Joe Hulbert
1. Walking with Braun
Now look, I appreciate that wrestling is an important part of…wrestling but I don’t care what match took place this week, it wasn’t unseating this upcoming segment as #1. It begun with Elias in all his glory, proudly singing about why he’s awesome. I don’t want to go into too much detail on his individual progress as it’ll soon be something I cover in a full piece but it has to be said, what a success story this guy has been. It’s still quite surreal to hear the crowd say “WALK WITH ELIAS” with such vigour and he deserves it too, he’s worked real hard and has become brilliant at this character. Good for him.
Back to this segment though and in the midst of Elias’ fabulous concert, an eruption from the crowd hinted that trouble was coming and in hindsight, it certainly was. Suddenly, he would be interrupted by the announcement of Braun Strowman who was now seated on the ramp with a microphone in front of him and a monstrous bass in his hands. The initial visual of him sitting there with a grin etched across his face was enough to seal this week’s top spot but what followed took things to a whole new level.
After wildly attempting to play his bass and breaking it in the process, Strowman sung an original song all about how “HE’S NOT FINISHED” with Elias as well as how the artist formerly known as ‘The Drifter’ will soon “GET THESE HANDS.” If you are somehow reading this piece without having seen RAW, I promise you that all of this actually happened…in real life. Oh and guess what, it was even more awesome than it sounds. Following his beautiful singing, Braun hit the ring and beat Elias up before smashing his big bass over Elias’ back. Again, all of this actually happened.

What a segment, what a pair of characters and what a bunch of visuals. As absurd as it sounds, this was WWE at its absolute best.
