WWE SmackDown 5 Best Segments: Main Event Stands Out
5. The Bludgeon Brothers destroy a TV monitor.
Hey, I said the best five segments. It doesn’t mean they’re all going to be good. WWE packed a whole lot of stupid into this one minute segment. If the Usos’ promo made Harper and Rowan so angry, why did they stand in front of the monitor for the SmackDown Tag Team Champions’ entire diatribe? Why didn’t they leave? Why didn’t they batter the TV earlier in the promo? Most importantly, why did they just stand there awkwardly after smashing the monitor instead of walking away like any normal person would?
This segment didn’t benefit either team. The Usos were great as usual in terms of their delivery, but they didn’t say anything new or groundbreaking. Conversely, this made the Bludgeon Brother look like a mid-90’s era goofball heel team–not exactly how the company should portray prospective title contenders. Their outfits look hokey and the prop hammers define the team down as midcard fodder. Just let Harper and Rowan go out and kill jobbers in the ring; that’s more impressive than bashing in a TV screen. This segment got listed here mostly due to the Usos’ superb mic work, but WWE needs to correct course with the Bludgeon Brothers fast.
