WWE SmackDown 5 Best Segments: Main Event Stands Out
SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair vs. Sarah Logan
Charlotte’s plan to beat all of the Riott Squad members one by one continued this week when she wrestled Sarah Logan in a non-title match. The encounter was a little rough around the edges but it was still a fun clash between the two powerhouses of the SmackDown women’s division. The ladies botched a couple of moves, but I would chalk that up to bad timing and lack of familiarity. I think Charlotte and Logan could put together an even better match down the line.
Her awful, wannabe-Skinner promos notwithstanding, Logan is a very good worker. The former Crazy Mary Dobson pulled out some unique moves, like the spear to Charlotte’s back and a couple of takedowns. Meanwhile, Charlotte has evolved into one of the best workers in the company.
WWE announced a six-woman tag match between Charlotte, Becky Lych, Naomi, and the Riott Squad for next weeks show–the Riott squad issued the challenge via another terrible cell phone promo. I assume Ruby Riott scores the pin in that encounter to set her up as Charlotte’s next challenger at Fastlane. That match should also be pretty good.

Hopefully, WWE gets out of this recent booking rut with the women. They keep matching up the same women every week. Perhaps a defecting Asuka will shake things up.
