2. Kevin Owens vs. Baron Corbin

Arguably no superstar on the WWE roster has been as criticized in and out of the ring over the past several months as Baron Corbin.  The Lone Wolf has garnered a bad reputation in that time, but he has reminded fans why he’s in the WWE as of late with a few impressive performances.

Ever since losing the United States Championship to Dolph Ziggler a couple months ago, Corbin hasn’t done much.  But last night gave him a chance to go against one of the best the blue brand has to offer in Kevin Owens.  Owens and Sami Zayn attacked Corbin and Ziggler to open up last night’s show, but that move would doom them in the end.

Commissioner Shane McMahon made two matches pitting Corbin against Owens and Zayn against Ziggler, and if Corbin and Ziggler were to win their respective matches, they would be added to the WWE Championship match at Fastlane.  The Lone Wolf made the most of his opportunity with a very solid match against KO.

Corbin sold his injury issues well in the match before managing to overcome them and defeat Owens.  This was one of Corbin’s best matches in months and he will get another chance to shine at Fastlane with the WWE Championship at stake.  While he almost certainly won’t win the title, the position and momentum could help Corbin in the long run.

The Lone Wolf has shown flashes of brilliance as of late, and last night was as solid of a match as he has had in a while.

Final Grade: B+
