1. Sami Zayn vs. Dolph Ziggler

The return of Dolph Ziggler to SmackDown came last night, but in a way nobody expected as the show progressed.  After vacating the United States Championship a couple months ago and kayfabe walking out on the company, Ziggler returned last night with his sights set on glory.

Ziggler said he returned to the WWE to main event WrestleMania 34, but his first night back on the blue brand took an unexpected twist early on.  He was set to battle Baron Corbin to open up the show, but was attacked by Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.  This led to commissioner Shane McMahon pitting Ziggler against Zayn later in the night with high stakes.

If The Showoff was to defeat Zayn, he would be added to the WWE Championship match at Fastlane.  Corbin knocked off Owens earlier in the night to be added to the match at Fastlane, and Ziggler wouldn’t waste his opportunity.  He and Zayn put forth a very good match with a lot of action to go around.

For a brief second, it appeared as if Zayn would defeat Ziggler.  But in the end, a huge superkick propelled The Showoff to a WWE Championship opportunity at Fastlane.  At the pay-per-view, it will be AJ Styles defending his title against Owens, Zayn, Ziggler, and Corbin in a Fatal 5-Way.  As for Ziggler, this was an important night that turned out to be a big success and it appears like he’s back to his babyface persona.
