#2. – Asuka has beaten Nia Jax before
The prospect of Nia Jax Vs. Asuka is being built up as a huge clash in the women’s division on Monday Night RAW, and quite rightly so. However, there are a couple of issues with the presentation of the clash between ‘The Empress of Tomorrow’ and Nia Jax who ‘isn’t like most girls’.
First of all, despite her impressive size and ability, Jax has only really been booked strongly in the Royal Rumble match, when to be fair, they did make her look almost unstoppable. However before that she was a love interest for Enzo Amore, and a friend to Alexa Bliss.
Personally, Jax doesn’t have enough momentum behind her, and hasn’t garnered the achievements and accolades that I believe are needed to make you a credible threat to defeat Asuka.
Secondly, Nia Jax and Asuka have actually wrestled each other in the WWE before, with Jax challenging Asuka for the NXT Women’s title at NXT TakeOver: The End. So Asuka has already beaten Jax before.
And as I touched upon earlier, WWE has done nothing to build Jax up to convince me that she has changed enough to be able to beat Asuka since her loss to the undefeated star on NXT, so I just don’t think the WWE should do it.
