Last night’s episode of WWE Raw featured a crazy Gauntlet Match, so let’s take a look at the show’s top five segments.

As some of you may recall, last week I credited RAW for spreading time across the board, and giving a whole range of characters worthwhile television time. However, this week’s episode was memorable for a very different reason as the gauntlet match opener took up almost all of RAW’s first two hours. By definition though, that very match obviously featured multiple talents and more than that, did a wonderful job spotlighting each individual in their own way, allowing everyone got some momentum heading into Sunday’s big Elimination Chamber match.

Historically, as in when I did this last week, I count a match as just one segment on the top 5 list but that seems like a silly approach for this particular episode. As I’ll get to in a moment, outside of that gauntlet match there wasn’t much to see so for that reason, I’m going to split up our massive opener into each individual portion and use that for this week’s rankings. With that being said, let’s briefly discuss this episode’s…interesting main event before getting into my top 5 segments of the week.

Honourable Mention

An Ally for Alexa?

If I’m being honest, this spot should probably go to a part of the gauntlet match that missed out on a top 5 spot but in fear of being repetitive, let’s instead discuss this week’s closing segment. As for the actual six-woman tag itself, things didn’t go very well. I like Sonya’s physicality but her mannerisms and such are weak and though I don’t blame her in the slightest, Mandy has just really struggled to find her feet so far, both as a worker and a character. The fact that these two dictated almost all of the main event’s action explains many of its issues.

However, I did like Alexa’s character work and more importantly, the way it culminated in her alliance with Mickie James at the end. For the last few weeks Bliss has been trying to find a friend in James and this week Mickie repaid the favour, joining forces with Alexa to hit a double DDT. I wanted to give a little credit to this angle as I did think it was quite creative. I personally expected Mickie to end any hint of friendship or more likely, Bliss shenanigans but James helping the champ instead was a nice touch.

The obvious result of all this is Alexa eliminating Mickie on Sunday but maybe, just maybe we’ll be surprised…I wouldn’t hold your breath though.
