Baron Corbin vs. AJ Styles

Result: Styles wins with the Phenomenal Forearm

Grade: B+

Right when the bell rings, Baron Corbin starts talking trash, so AJ Styles hits him with some strikes to the legs to ground the bigger man.

There was an insane spot where Styles bounced off the barricade after Corbin flipped him over the table. He jumps back into the ring for a Phenomenal Forearm, and Corbin kicks out because Styles can’t get enough height on his finisher! I mean, wow! That was fantastic!

Most of the match was filled with big strikes between the two of them, and Corbin hit a rather sickening “Deep Six” on Styles that got a nice pop from me. Corbin’s Deep Six continues to be one of wrestling’s best signature moves.

There was another cool spot where Corbin tried to hit the End of Days, but Styles smoothly countered it and turned it into a Calf Crusher. Corbin recognized it and tried to fight out of it, but he couldn’t do it and ended up taking some damage while in the submission hold.

Styles put away Corbin with a Phenomenal Forearm to pick up a big win over Corbin, proving that after back-to-back losses to The Lone Wolf for the United States Championship, he can indeed defeat the powerful Corbin.

Also, I have to praise Corbin for putting on a solid match just a week after having a very good TV match with Kevin Owens. He’s on the rise again.

Of course, after the match ends, Owens and Zayn come out to take advantage of Styles, beating him down after the Phenomenal One’s victory. However, it is Corbin who stands tall at the end of the day after laying out Owens and Zayn, reminding us that everyone will meet their End of Days.
