WWE is currently on the Road to WrestleMania, and superstars on SmackDown Live are set to live life in the Fastlane.

Before heading to the grandest stage of them all, SmackDown Live will make one more stop in Cleveland, Ohio for their annual Fastlane pay-per-view. For many, this will be their chance to find their place on the WrestleMania card, and for others, it’s for them to keep it.

Bobby Roode will be defending his United States Championship against Randy Orton. The New Day will reignite their amazing feud with the Usos for the Tag Team Championships. Ruby Riott looks to make a name for herself challenging Charlotte Flair for her Smackdown Women’s Championship. And AJ Styles will have to defend his WWE Championship against Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler.

While the matchcard right now looks small, the pay-per-view is still a few weeks away. So WWE is more than likely going to make more matches in that time. But in the meantime, plenty of predictions can be made about the current card.

So with that in mind, here are the current predictions for WWE Fastlane.

Bobby Roode vs Randy Orton

Of all of the dream matches to happen, Roode vs Orton may be one of the most underrated to happen. Orton has been a main event star for over a decade, and Roode made a name for himself back in TNA.

And while we’ve seen them as allies during Survivor Series, we have yet to see them go one on one yet. Not only that, but the only title that Orton has yet to win in WWE is the US Championship. So with both of those thoughts in mind, it makes this match far more interesting.

This match has the potential to wow the fans if done right. This mostly means that as long as Orton is interested in the match, it could be good.  So far the buildup for this match has been underwhelming to say the least. All that has happened includes Jinder Mahal claiming that Roode has no respect for Orton. He then stated that Roode had his own version of the SmackDown Top 10 List. Long story short, the buildup has been less than stellar.

Luckily, Roode has been able to show off his talent in the ring lately. Not only that, but putting the United States Championship on him has helped as well. While there’s plenty of time for there to be better buildup in the next few weeks, it’s likely this feud will remain lukewarm at best. With that being said, it doesn’t seem like they are set to take the title off Roode yet. While Mahal will more than likely have some sort of interference in this match, Roode will more than likely come out on top.
