4. Baron Corbin vs. Sami Zayn

One superstar that has been building some momentum as of late on the blue brand has been Baron Corbin.  Corbin had a rocky 2017 at times, but seems to be on the come up early in 2018 as the Fastlane pay-per-view approaches.

Corbin, who’s part of the WWE Championship match at Fastlane, took on another participant of that match in Sami Zayn to try and further his momentum heading into Fastlane.  And as it turns out, the two put on a pretty good match with a lot of other shenanigans taking place at the same time.

As far as the actual Corbin vs. Zayn match itself, it went well.  But the interference of Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler took over the match towards the end.  The Lone Wolf was still able to pick up the win over Zayn, but Ziggler came out looking superior after he laid out Owens who was on commentary and then attacked Corbin after the match was over.

However, Corbin still came away victorious and that should help his recent wave of momentum.  With as many people as there are in the WWE Championship match at Fastlane, it’s easy to have several one-on-one matches and multi-person matches, and that has been evident in recent weeks and will continue to be heading into Fastlane.

The Lone Wolf knocking off Owens’ guardian angel was a pretty good match, but the outside noise did take a little bit away from purely the in-ring aspect.

Final Grade: B-
