2. Jinder Mahal’s Role In The United States Championship Picture

The career of Jinder Mahal took off to a level nobody would have imagined in 2017 as he had a near six month long WWE Championship reign.  It wasn’t the greatest to say the very least, but since falling out of the world title picture, he is back in another championship picture.

The United States Championship will be on the line at Fastlane when Bobby Roode defends against Randy Orton in Orton’s quest to win the one title he has never won in his illustrious WWE career.  But looming in the distance of this match is The Modern Day Maharaja, who has made it his life’s work as of late to create dissension between Roode and Orton.

Mahal did defeat Orton on the most recent edition of SmackDown after some confusion with Roode on the outside, but as of now, he will not be part of the match at Fastlane.  He could still be added to the match, but even if he isn’t added to it, his presence can still be greatly felt at Fastlane and it could directly affect the result of the match.

If Mahal isn’t added to the U.S. Championship match on Sunday, expect some interference from him in some way, shape, or form.  It seems unlikely Orton will win the title in his first opportunity, so having Mahal come out and screw up the finish of the match, which would allow Roode to retain, seems like a real possibility.

The Modern Day Maharaja isn’t out of the U.S. Championship picture regardless of what happens at Fastlane, but expect his presence one way or another on Sunday.
