Hiromu Takahashi w/ Daryl (or a reasonable facsimile) (Los Ingobernables de Japon) vs. Flip Gordon
Hiromu got a huge pop from the crowd as he entered. He also took a Daryl from the front row for his entrance and bowed down to him in the ring as the fans threw streamers. Wrestling, people. Flip flipped into the ring, living up to his name. Flip started his kicking up repeatedly from the mat spot early on, and Hiromu danced while he did it. That was quite fun.
Hiromu hit his running apron dropkick to the floor and nailed Flip. Takahashi kept control back in the ring with some well placed dropkicks. Hiromu went to the outside of the ring and grabbed another Daryl. He hit Flip with it. The referee complained that it’s an illegal object. It’s a stuffed animal, ref. Hilarious spot.
Hiromu hit a hard chop, but Flip hits a series of fast paced blows to take control back. Flip hit a back flipping Samoan drop and a standing shooting star press. As Flip went to the top rope, Hiromu caught him. However, Flip managed to hit a springboard kick. Afterwards he hit a falcon arrow, and almost got the pinfall on Hiromu. Flip missed a 450 splash but landed on his feet. Hiromu hit a running Canadian Destroyer, but before Flip collapsed he hit a superkick on Hiromu and both men are down.
Flip hit a Star Spangled Stunner, but Hiromu kicked out. Hiromu got his knees up when Flip went for a 450 Splash. Takahashi hit a Death Valley Driver into the corner and called for a Time Bomb soon thereafter. Hiromu hit it and got the pinfall! Great match to start the show.
