Punishment Martinez vs. Marty Scrull (Bullet Club)

This match starts fast with Scrull going right after Martinez. Martinez countered with a very quick tope con hilo to the outside of the ring. The action is fast and furious as both men fly around the ring. Martinez did a springboard senton and landed right on Marty’s face. Ouch. Marty’s eye was cut after that. Given the size of Martinez, it’s crazy that he can fly the way he does, but he needs to be a little more careful. Accidents happen in wrestling though.

While Martinez has shown impressive agility, Marty showed some incredible strength by hitting a brain buster! Marty went for the chicken wing, but Punishment countered. Marty went back to the knee and tried to keep the big man down. Scrull headed to the outside of the ring and grabbed some powder. The ref stopped him. Marty threatened the ref. Security surrounded Marty, and Martinez dove onto all of them!

Martinez hit Marty with a curb stomp on the apron! Punishment set up a table on the outside of the ring. He put Marty on it and went for a tope con hilo again. Marty moved out of the way, and Martinez went crashing through the table. Marty reversed a chokeslam attempt and started stomping on Punishment’s head. That looked like a receipt for the senton earlier. The ref was accidentally blindsided, and Marty goes for the powder! Just kidding! As there was actually no powder, and as Martinez put his hand up to block it, Marty kicked him low. Marty rolled him up and pinned him for the win!

Solid match from both guys here. Marty Scrull is clearly being booked to look strong, so expect him to be in the World title picture soon. Marty was wildly over, and it would be crazy of ROH to not push him as a main eventer, especially when he can deliver awesome matches.
