The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) (c) vs. The Briscoes – ROH Tag Team Titles
Dem Boys want their tag team titles back. If the Briscoes win, they will be the 9-time ROH Tag Team Champions. Mark Briscoe hid by the entrance ramp and attacked Sabin & Shelley. As expected, this is a very fast paced match. Mark Briscoe got busted open somehow. Alex Shelley reveled in the blood and tried to open him up more. Shelly wiped the blood off his hand on the referee’s shirt. Poor Todd Sinclair.
Jay Briscoe went a little nuts, clearly angry that Mark is bleeding. Jay beat on Shelley for awhile and held Alex on the outside of the ring for Mark to dropkick. Alex moved, and Mark dropkicked Jay by accident. Shelley got back in the ring, and Sabin ran across and dove onto both Briscoes. Back in the ring, Sabin hit the Cradle Shock, but Jay broke up the pinfall.
The Machine Guns went for Made in Detroit, but Mark fought out of it and left Shelley in a tree of woe. Sabin accidentally dropkicked Shelley. All the men ended up on the mat. Jay went for the Jay Driller, but Sabin fought out. Jay hit a neckbreaker on Sabin and Mark followed it with a Froggy Bow (Frog Splash Elbow). Chris Sabin got dropped with a Jay Driller, but Sabin kicked out! The Briscoes picked up Sabin and hit a Doomsday Device, pinning Sabin!
Result: The Briscoes
Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5
The Briscoes are now 9-time tag team champions! The will have to go down as the greatest tag team in ROH history. Solid match from two very good tag teams. Shelley and Sabin are often forgotten on the list of best tag teams in the world. The Briscoes too. Given the performance of both teams, the shouldn’t be. This was very good.
