1. Six-Pack Challenge WWE Title Match: AJ Styles (c) vs John Cena vs Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens vs Dolph Ziggler vs Baron Corbin

Simply put, this was awesome. Whenever you pack six superstars into one match, it’s very difficult to make everyone shine. But Sunday’s Six Pack Challenge accomplished that feat and then some. Exactly opposite of how the Roode/Orton match felt, the title match at Fastlane was 22 minutes long, but it felt like 5. It was a violent, frenetic, action packed war that that showed just how badly each guy wanted to be champion. Any time a match like this is contested for a world title, it only helps elevate the prestige of said belt.

Now, even though this match resembled a perfectly orchestrated car crash, the blue brand still managed to forward a number of different story lines. After Sunday night, the Owens/Zayn allegiance/feud looks even more complex but in a good way. John Cena continued to find frustration in his attempts to get to Wrestlemania which will undoubtedly lead him to The Undertaker. And Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler, in two of the best performances of the night, once again proved why they’re deserving of so much more on SmackDown.

But the most important story line to come out of Fastlane was the victory and continued brilliance of AJ Styles. In another stirring performance, ‘The Phenomenal One” seems to have officially punched his ticket to the Wrestlemania dream match against Nakamura. In what will be a rematch of their incredible first and only other singles bout from Wrestle Kingdom 10 under the NJPW banner, the two will lock horns again in New Orleans in a match that has fans of pure, in-ring wrestling salivating.

It’s a show like Fastlane that can really kick-start a fledgling brand. And if the competitors of the blue brand can keep up this type of pace and story telling, the disappointing past few months can be easily forgotten.
