3. Charlotte Flair And Asuka Segment

Just as AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura is a dream match on the men’s side that will take place at WrestleMania 34, there is a women’s match that many consider a dream match as well.  And after this past Sunday’s Fastlane pay-per-view, this huge match will take place on the grandest stage of them all.

Asuka won the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match back in January to earn an opportunity at a women’s title of her choosing at WrestleMania 34.  But with her being on Raw, many just assumed she would challenge Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss.  However, Asuka had other ideas and announced that she would be facing SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34 after her appearance at Fastlane following Charlotte’s title defense.

Last night saw The Empress Of Tomorrow make her first appearance on SmackDown as she and Charlotte had an interaction in the ring.  The promo was very well-done with Charlotte making many great points and Asuka following in her own way.  It’s about being the best for both individuals and one can make the argument that these are the two best women’s competitors in the WWE today.

The segment ended too soon, but it was very solid for the time it was given.  It did all it needed to do in terms of explaining what the meaning of this match is.  It’s a simple matter of two outstanding athletes wanting to be the best with Charlotte wanting to end Asuka’s undefeated streak and Asuka wanting to beat the best champion in the WWE.

There ought to be more to follow, but the first interaction post-Fastlane between Charlotte and Asuka did a nice job of setting up the foundation for this women’s dream match.
