5. What lies ahead for Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin?

Two of the six participants from the Fastlane main event were absent during the show on Tuesday. Neither Dolph Ziggler nor Baron Corbin were featured during the show. Is that an indication of their role at this year’s WrestleMania card as well? Normally, one can vouch for putting anybody in the Andre the Giant memorial battle royale. But in case of Corbin, he has already won the whole thing, on his first night in the main roster. As for Ziggler, he is just too good to be placed there.

So what lies ahead for these two men? A couple of weeks ago, Ziggler made a valid point when he said that he hasn’t had a singles match in WrestleMania until now. He referred to this as ‘criminal’. The truth can’t be far from it either. Ziggler is one of the best that the Blue Brand has to offer. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have a feud or a title match heading into the Show of Shows.

As for Corbin, he is one of the future stars for the company. Creative should be looking for ways to portray him much like they do for Strowman. It’s not too late for either of these men to have a meaningful Mania program. They can have a good feud and match with the likes of Rusev or Tye Dillinger, two other under utilized stars on the roster.

In some ways, I can draw parallels between Corbin – Ziggler and Strowman – Elias programs. The latter feud might eventually lead to the rivals pairing up for a shot at the tag titles. But more on that later. As for Ziggler and Corbin, after months of feuding with each other, teaming them up for a while might not be a bad idea. For Corbin, it will be a huge opportunity to learn more about the business and the ring game from one of the best. For Ziggler, it will enable him to take fewer bumps in the ring and lose fewer matches in the process.

Frankly, I wouldn’t mind seeing this duo mix it up with the rest of the tag division, especially the Usos and the Bludgeon Brothers.
