2. Is this the John Cena heel turn or is there more to come?

John Cena finally realized he could simply call out the Dead Man instead of going back and forth across the brands, pursuing the WWE/Universal titles to find a spot on this year’s WrestleMania card. In a show of irreverence and disrespect for the Phenom, unlike anybody else who ever stepped against him, Cena challenged the Undertaker to a match at WrestleMania 34.

Cena’s words were sharp and to the point, picking apart the Dead Man and his aura. He even brought the Undertaker’s wife into the picture. This is not the John Cena that we have seen for the past decade. He is no Doctor of Thuganomics yet but he is no good guy John who shows up on cereal boxes either.

So, is this the stuff of myths and legends? Is this the fabled John Cena heel turn? Or is there more to it? I would honestly be disappointed if Cena continues to play captain goody two shoes after that promo. It was electric and rejuvenating. Moreover, it seemed like Cena was motivated and actually wanted to do this for a while. As such, seeing him return to the old persona, that admires and respects the Dead Man would be disappointing.

I would in fact want Cena to take the fight to Taker. Try to provoke him and if possible, physically confront him and fire the first shots. That is what can add more fire to this WrestleMania feud which should have happened four years ago.

So what do you have in store for us John? Will you finally give in to the dark side or remain yourself for the rest of this program? Please be the heel at least until the match is over.
