Odds are that Rusev just tweeted out that he wants to face a celebrity at WrestleMania as a joke because he knows that mainstream attention is what draws and that was a way for a directionless Rusev to get on the card.

However, if it isn’t a joke and is actually the start of an actual storyline for Rusev’s WrestleMania feud, then there are very few celebrities that this angle could work with. With such limited time to prepare for a match, it would have to be a celebrity with a background in professional wrestling.

So, the first name that springs to mind is obviously The Rock. He is arguably Hollywood’s biggest star right now and WWE’s most electrifying Superstar of all time, but if The Rock were available, he would have already been announced for the event in order to draw ticket sales, and he would probably be Ronda Rousey’s partner instead of Rusev’s opponent.

With The Rock unavailable, there’s another former WWE Superstar that is a pretty big deal now. Batista, a huge star in WWE, is now a huge celebrity with his role as Drax The Destroyer. He made it big as the character in Guardians of The Galaxy 1 and 2, and now he’s in one of the biggest movies of the year that just so happens to come out in April, Avengers: Infinity War.

Batista would be a perfect fit as a celebirity accepting Rusev’s challenge. Batista has publicly discussed how he loves WWE and is willing to have another run with company in the near future. The only issue is that his busy schedule due to acting and creative disagreements have hindered that one last run.

“The Animal” was unhappy with how his last run with the company went due to being misused, but now is his chance to come back on his terms and put over a rising Superstar in the process. Also, he’d get to promote his big movie coming out later that month, so there’s another reason right there.

Barring scheduling issues, this is an exciting feud that could entertain, draw more people to the program, and benefit both involved in the feud. Let’s just hope that The Animal is ready to be unleashed in WWE in time for WrestleMania 34.
