2. Mick Foley
Another option as a long term replacement as a SmackDown Live authority figure could be Mick Foley. Foley has proven to be a successful GM (to an extent) with his most recent run as Raw General Manager and would be a perfect fit in WWE’s Land of Opportunity.
This could also be a great way for WWE to reinforce the whole battle for brand supremacy. After Stephanie fired Mick from Raw, hiring him as SmackDown’s General Manager would be a great way for SmackDown to try to outdo the red brand.
After all, there will need to be a bigger emphasis on the brand split and competition between the two if they want to keep the rosters separate since there will be no brand exclusive PPV’s after WrestleMania. So, hopefully, Survivor Series won’t be the only time we see some competition between Raw and SmackDown.
Also, Mick Foley would be a great authority figure that would add something exciting to the program without taking up too much of the focus. While Shane and Bryan were featured in the brand’s main angles and multiple segments, Mick will be able to run a smooth show that focuses more on the talent.
Since Foley has been off of WWE TV ever since his firing, he should be able to garner some kind of pop if he returns on the blue brand. Then, he can use that to seamlessly transition into a solid authority figure for SmackDown.
