19: Triple H Vs Roman Reigns- WrestleMania 32

By the time WrestleMania 32 rolled around in April 2016, fans had more than had enough of Roman Reign’s never-ending push.

Main eventing his second consecutive WrestleMania, Roman Reigns was greeted in the ring by a barrage of boos, with the commentators desperately trying to justify them by claiming, as they do now, that Roman is a divisive figure.

Staunch defenders of Roman Reigns, myself included, would even struggle to defend what was happening at the start of 2016. The company had been so transparent in their booking of Reigns, and the fans were sick of it.

Triple H, the big heel of the piece, was greeted with cheers every time he landed a punch on Reigns, and the in-ring performance from both men did little to turn the crowd to Roman’s side. Not even Stephanie McMahon being put through a table by the former Shield member could win the fans over.

Reigns inevitably won the match and the show’s closing moments, which saw Reigns holding the belt above his head celebrating, while the whole arena booed, are some of the most painful to watch in the history of the event.
