5. Class of 2017
The class of 2017 in the WWE Hall of Fame saw a return over 10 years in the making. The rest of this class was filled with some outstanding talent that left an indelible impact on the WWE and the wrestling business as a whole.
This class was headlined by the return of Kurt Angle as the newest member of the hall of fame, along with Diamond Dallas Page, Rick Rude, Theodore Long, The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express, Beth Phoenix, and Eric LeGrand as the Warrior Award recipient. The 2017 class featured several marquee names, but underrated names as well.
Angle is arguably the greatest pure athlete in wrestling history, DDP was a beloved superstar in WCW who’s done so much good for so many, Rick Rude was one of the best characters in the WWE for years, Teddy Long did a little bit of everything and is one of the greatest GM’s of all-time, and The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express blazed a trail in tag team wrestling.
Phoenix helped make the women’s revolution what it is today and LeGrand’s story of perseverance was more than deserving of the Warrior Award. Not to mention, the speeches during the induction ceremony were outstanding from top to bottom.
The WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017 helped kick WrestleMania 33 weekend into high gear and resulted in one of the greatest hall of fame classes of all-time.
